Shadows of Solstice is Out

A red lantern in a girls hand--book cover for Shadows of SolsticeSome books just write themselves and Shadows of Solstice was one of those. The germ of an idea came out of a short story I wrote for an anthology that wasn’t accepted. The story I really wanted to tell was too long for a short story and this book was born.

Originally, I published it in January but said little about it because it takes place between the Feast of St. Lucy and the Winter Solstice. In the old calendar, St. Lucy’s day was the shortest day of the year but when the calendars changed, her day got moved up about a week before the actual solstice.

So far, this particular book is one of the favorites of all the stories I’ve told. Check it out.
