Privacy Policy

Who I am

I am author Bonnie Elizabeth and you are visiting my personal publishing site. I list the books I have written, stories I have written, where I have published them such as magazines and anthologies. I also blog about things that I think will interest my readers here at BonnieElizabeth.com

What personal data I collect and why I collect it

I may collect personal data such as a name, an email address, and an IP address. I only use this information if a comment or a contact form comes to me and I need to respond to that information. I do not sell  this information. I do have a security plugin that will keep the IP address, however they have done their best to keep all information anonymous. Their full privacy police is here: https://www.wordfence.com/privacy-policy/

By default WordPress does not collect any personal data about visitors, and only collects the data shown on the User Profile screen from registered users.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Contact forms

The contact form I use saves the information, including email, name, and IP address that is collected. I keep this on file on the site for several months simply because I may need to refer back to the original email. After that time it is deleted. I do not share or sell this information to anyone.

Cookies

I do use cookies because some of my links are affiliate links and these will track cookies. They may monitor your interaction with their website, and further track your interaction if you have an account and are logged into that website.

Analytics

The host I use and the theme I use allows me to track some information about each visitor for their analytics.

Who I share your data with

I do not sell information on taken by this site. Several plugins listed above, such as WordFence, do share information with me. Also, affiliate links may share information as well as our anti-spam plugin.

How long I retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For those who use my contact form, I typically clear out all information after three months.

What rights you have over your data

If you have left a comment, you have the right to request that we delete the comment. I will do my best to comply in a timely manner.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

I do not personally accept any payment information. All purchases go through third party vendors and  would recommend you read their privacy policies before purchasing.

If you continue to use this website without changing your cookie settings or you click "Accept" below then you are consenting to this. This information is given in the interest of transparency and to comply with EU laws regarding the collecting of information. My contact form does collect this information, however I do not use it other than to respond to inquiries and comments via that form. The comment forms on any posts on the blog also collect information. Again, I do not use this other than to respond to inquiries and questions. I do use a third party security plugin that collects information on IP addresses so they can scan for malicious users and bots. To my knowledge they do not use this information in any other way, nor do they sell this information to other users.
