So last week I published an urban fantasy story, Granny Justice. I wrote this for a bundle that will be coming out later in the summer with the theme of Justice. My first reader liked it and wants to see more of Granny, but we’ll see. There is such a thing as too much of a good character. It’s always a tough thing to walk that line between giving the readers what they want to know and having to tell too much and making the character less mysterious.
It’s a bit darker than what I normally do, but I guess I’ve been in a dark place these last couple of months what with Mother Ghost and now this story. I’ll have to put up something light and easy for next month, although I haven’t got a clue which story it will be. There are plenty to chose from but which one gets pulled? Or which one do I write?
As far as writing, I’m working on an SF trilogy and I should be getting back edits on One Bad Wish any time now. One Bad Wish needs to get up and published because it too will be bundled! I’m excited for this one to come out. The first readers really liked it and it’s something I think Whisper fans will like (even if they don’t like it as much as they liked Whisper). It’s a quick, easy read with a spunky narrator.
But this month, you have Granny. You might want to check her out at your favorite ebook retailer.
