So I am back to reading some of Carolyn Myss’ books that I’ve missed. I loved her in the 1990s. One of my friends even went to some of her talks. She was very much into learning from her.
I picked up one that I hadn’t read and I was struck by the sentence, “Healing does not mean a cure.” So often in today’s world we use the two interchangeably, but I think that sentence is very true. And it spoke to me because so many people seem to believe just visualizing and all the other energy medicines create some sort of cure, when in fact, they are healing. Which may or may not cure the particular disease at that point in the person’s life.
It doesn’t mean they won’t, but it doesn’t mean they will.
I have had friends who have used visualization with unexpected results. It wasn’t necessarily an improvement in their life but the problem was gone. In another case, a friend surrendered to an illness and it disappeared. Her surrender looked nothing like the passive surrender one expects but it was an acceptance, an acceptance that this was the way it was. It was done with anger and frustration and a lot of pain but ultimately that acceptance was the surrender that allowed her to heal.
I find all aspects of energetic healing so interesting.
