Looking Back

On Saturday, September 11, my social media feed had plenty of remembrances about 9/11. I remember what I was doing that day. More importantly, I remembered who I was.

A lot has changed in twenty years. I don’t live in the same state. I am no longer a struggling acupuncturist. In fact, I ran a successful practice for a few years, moved, began building another practice, started writing, moved again and started writing full time. I also got married.

The cats I have now are different from the cats I had then.

People I knew and loved have died in the interim.

In my life, it seems like there are more differences than there are similarities. If I live another twenty years, I wonder what things will remain with me then from the person I am today.
