I like to do goals for the year.
This year will be light on goals because January means moving across the country. I’m not sure how easy that will be but that’s part of what has to happen.
I hope to get two more Whisper novels out. And then I want to get an omnibus edition of Whisper out.
My other goals are general and less likely to have a specific way of tracking whether I did that. I’m hoping to raise my visibility to readers. That means for me, getting my books out to more stores, writing short stories or whatever it takes to be more in the public eye where others may notice me.
I also want to play with writing in other genres. I have ideas but the Whisper novels have gotten to a point where they nearly write themselves. Even when I don’t feel like writing, I can knock off a Whisper novel pretty quickly. I’d like to do short series novels–two or three books so that people can finish and I can let that go, rather than the long drawn out Whisper books too. Those are all things I’ll be exploring next year and hoping I get a handle on how to do it.
Classes will happen of course. I have one at the end of February. I may go to the Cat Writer’s Association conference as I’ll be closer to Atlanta next year. I’m not set on that for certain but I might. We’ll see.
