Final 2017 Post

This image that I took in Sydney, Nova Scotia seems like an appropriate theme for the end of the year. Another one done.

It wasn’t a bad year. I wrote over 575,000 words this year, many of which will see print, probably next year. I have a backlog of books to get to an editor and then publish.

I have the goal of writing three novels and 100 short stories next year, so I’ll be working on getting to that. I’ll also have the goal of getting all 100 of those short stories out in the mail in hopes of selling some of them.

I’m looking forward to attending Superstars again this year and then attending the Fantasy Workshop on the Oregon Coast with Kristine Kathryn Rusch. We’ve started the reading and I already have questions. Not that this is new reading for me but I am reading with an eye towards why she picked these particular stories for us and what they represent. One thing I’ve noticed is that I believe my writing tends towards dark fantasy, though I try and keep things light and escapist. Who knew?

I hope your year has been productive and fun. I wish all readers the best for 2018.
