My experiment du jour (although perhaps for the month is a better term) is writing a second book in the series while I do a read-through/edit/put together a story bible from the first book in a series.
The fact that a story bible does not exist is because I, apparently, got lazy with the first book and didn’t do one and put it off. So I had an idea that I wanted to write for the second book and I couldn’t remember all the character names (there are a lot of side characters) nor could I remember everything I wrote about the world.
So, dive into the first book and start the second book. Writing is a bit slower than it often is for me but that’s okay. I am reading/editing the book again (and I’m liking it so few edits), while writing the other one. It’s not as difficult as I would have expected. I’ve always been afraid I’d get the plots mixed up but in this series, at least, it’s very easy. I might do this again.
