So last night was a bit wild and I admit to being tired and maybe not thinking as clearly as I should. We live in Central Kentucky, where we had one of the most active tornado and thunderstorm alert days in the history of the state. I believe it was the fourth active, but at any rate, the fact that it happened in the middle of the night wasn’t fun.
We had two tornado warnings last night. We’ve had one other in the five years we’ve lived here so two in one night was a lot. The first was at 1:30 and went to 2 AM. The second started about 2:10 and went until 2:45.
Our interior shelter is the closet in our bedroom. So, me, my husband and cats were all there, huddled together. Fortunately, it’s a good sized closet, but if these keep happening, I’d wish for something larger.
No damage though. In fact, we’ve lost more tree limbs and seen more damage around the neighborhood in other windstorms, of which this wasn’t one. There is, however, a fair amount of damage around the state. Another active storm is supposed to hit tonight. And there’s going to be a lot of rain through Sunday. Fortunately, we’re not in a flood area.
