Review: Skies of Ash

Rachel Howzell Hall is a new author to me. It was just one of those books that looked a little interesting on the shelf in the library. Skies of Ash was the sort of book that told me I’ll definitely read her again.

Lou Norton, the main detective, is an interesting, no nonsense female detective. She fits in in the man’s world. Her character voice maintained throughout the novel. There were times when I felt unable to identify with some phrases but Lou’s world is not my world and the book was all the more fascinating for it.

A good solid mystery. A hard boiled detective. Nice build up and ending. One not to miss.
